X Games Slopestyle Qualifiers
Best weather ever! Sleet, fog, rain and snow were just some of the words to describe the slopestyle competition yesterday. The snow conditions were changing run to run. One run you could see the jump and the next you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. I am just happy I made it through the course and into finals.

Winter X Games Day One
Last night was the first night of competition here in Aspen for the Winter X Games 13. Big Air was the first of competition for myself and fellow countrymen Torstein Horgmo and Mikkel Bang. In round one I was paired up w/Torstein head to head. We both had two runs each, my first trick was a frontside 1080 and Torstein did a switch backside 1080. For run two I thought I would step it up and did a double cork frontside 1080 which I've never landed in a contest so I was stoked. Torstein however came back with textbook switch backside 1260 for the win in heat #1. So Torstein moved on to the finals where he had to go head to head against T Rice. Rice had beat out my buddy Mikkel in heat #1 to move into the finals against Torstein. In the end Torstein was beat out by American Idol style "text in your vote" judging by Travis.
All in all it was a fun competition. I'm looking forward to today prelims for slopestyle. In the meantime check out some photos and video from yesterdays slopestyle practice and big air finals.

Andreas 3rd in Slopestyle at Winter Dew Tour stop #2
Andreas Wiig brought his A-games to the Mount Snow stop of the WDT, unleashing a slew of high-risk tricks that landed him in third place.

Andreas Wiig's high score of 88.00 was achieved by exiting the first jib via a backside 270 out. He then followed with a boardslide to fakie out, cab 900, backside 900 rodeo, switch boardslide on the down rail and capped with a switch backside 900 and frontside 1080. All smiles after his run, Andreas said, “The course was sick, though the jumps could’ve been a little bigger…I would’ve liked to have grabbed a bit longer.” Nice smooth runs including spinning jibs with multiple 9's and 10's was a solid performance for Andreas at round 2 of the Winter Dew Tour Series.
